the city never sleeps
12.25" x 9.4"
watercolour on ink

The concept of this artwork is simple. It is about the sleepless nights in a dark room, wishing you were somewhere else, staring at something beautiful rather than the blank ceiling.

I've taken the idea of cities constantly busy with life - day and night - and drew a parallel with how our mind races even (and especially) at night. It is a moment we experience more than once and it ranges from nights with our demons, anxiety, and profound discoveries.
